Objectives
Mundo-B is a project launched by a group of NGOs who wished to ecologically renovate a building in the center of Brussels in order to settle their offices as well as a conference center, an organic cafe, a didactic nature garden, etc.A substantial amount of information, services and activities relating to the environment and sustainable development are concentated in the building. Thanks to the manifold events organized by the NGOs and the services that will be provided, Mundo-B benefits from a growing fame and constitures an "organisation shop window".
Mundo-B creates a comfortable and efficient workplace where NGOs are encouraged to take advantage of well-resourced facilities. The objective is to provide long-term stability enabling organizations to entirely focus on their mission.
Effective networking and collaboration among the organisations located within the same building (with common spaces, for example the cafeteria) is fostered. In additin to the Mundo-B website, useful communication tools are in place that further facilitate the spread of information relating to the organisation's activities and the sector in general.
The centre inclusively provides essential office equipment like photocopiers, printers, projectors, stand equipment, etc.
The building's sustainable renovation constitutes an essential element of the project. The building has been retrofitted in many aspects : energy savings, water management, material choice, green spaces, workers' health, etc. This renovation has been realised with a budget where the extra costs are compensated by the energy savings. The renovated building represents a didactic tool to be used as a model for raising awareness among the public.
